If you decide on buying a beautiful Prune Man, you’ll be buying into a traditional part of Nuremberg life. They were allegedly invented in Nuremberg wire drawer. Legend has it, he was desperate to give his children a present, but only had plums for a tree and his wife.

The prune men you see today won’t be like the original ones, in fact, they can last for years without going moldy. The Nuremberg saying is; “Hosd an Zwetschga im Haus, gäid dir es Geld und Gligg ned aus.” which translates to “With a prune man in your house, money and happiness stay too”. This would be such a cute, typically Nuremberg souvenir.
